Nafanua

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nafanua is the name of a demon worshipped in Savaii and said to have descended through the ghostly line of Tuitaasaualii...king of the dead....Saveasiuleo...eel goddemon to Nafanua.A claim by Falealupo that Nafanua had conqured all of Samoa and passed four noble titles to Salamasina was referred to as wishful thinking by Krammer. To this day in attempt to elevate their importance on a national level there are some families that attempt to claim this is true. It is of course simply fiction.

Nafanua is also the name of the Samoan warrior goddess who according to legend, helped the Samoans win their freedom from Tonga. She is the daughter of Saveasi'uleo and Tilafaiga. Again simply Savaii regional mythology

Nafanua is a Pacific-class patrol boat operated by the Samoa Police Department. It was provided to Samoa by the Australian Government as part of the Pacific Patrol Boat Program.

Nafanua is the name of an active underwater volcanic cone in American Samoa. Nafanua Volcano is named after the warrior goddess.
