NAFC Championship

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The NAFC Championship (also known as the North American Nations Cup) was a football tournament made just for teams in the area of North America between the years of 1947 and 1949. It was replaced with the CONCACAF Championship when the NAFC merged with the CCCF into the CONCACAF in 1961. After 41 years of absence, the NAFC Championship was revived in 1990 and 1991 before the introduction of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The Confederacion Centroamericana y del Caribe de Futbol (Football Confederation of Central America and the Caribbean) also organized championships from 1941 to 1961.
