Nacimiento-Fergusson Road

Nacimiento-Fergusson Road starts at State Route 1, approximately 55 miles south of Carmel and 35 miles north of the Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument. It heads east from the Pacific Ocean into the high country of Big Sur for 24.5 miles, passing through Fort Hunter-Liggett, and providing the only vehicle access between SR 1 and US Highway 101 in the Big Sur area. It ends at Mission Road in Jolon.
There are two campgrounds along the road: Ponderosa Campground and Nacimiento Campground.
Due to the ocean views and forest setting, this is widely regarded as one of the premier motorcycling roads in California.
