Nachindi

Nachindi is a village in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is located at 32°57'0N 73°9'0E and has an elevation of 450 metres (1479 feet).[1] It is part of the Union Council of Jand Khanzada in Chakwal Tehsil. The Population of Nachindi is about 3000. Most of the population work for the Pakistan Army and other defence related departments.

It has a High School for Boys which is known as Government High School Nachinid and a high School for girls which is known as Government High School for Girls. Some Private Schools have also been established since 2004.

  • Brig Muhammad Akram who helped to develop the infrastructure of the village (electric, water supply, Water sewerage, Hospital, roads) when he was serving in the army with Gen Zia ul Haq.

The Nachindi village has a small but good hospital which was developed on the orders of former president of Pakistan General Zia-Ul-Haq.

The tribes of Nachindi include:

1) Rajput (mainly Chohan Rajpoot). The Rajputs have been divided into 3 sub casts but this division is only on village level, otherwise this subdivision is not known very well.

  • ) Malik (Maa lak)
  • ) Aadra (aa - dra)

2) Keenyal. 3) Kalar (also called Mughal Pathans). 4) Qazi (also Called Mian-nay or Mian).
