Nacella is a southern, cold-water genus of true limpets, marine gastropod molluscs in the family Patellidae, the true limpets.

This genus is found around sub-Antarctic and Antarctic islands in the Southern Ocean.
[edit] Shell description
Nacella shells are often not heavily sculptured and have a rounded outline and periphery. They usually have a reddish-bronze lustre.
[edit] Anatomy
The radula is distinctive in that there is a pair of massive erect central teeth. The radula ribbon is very long and coiled like a watch spring.
