Naawan is a 5th class municipality in the province of Misamis Oriental, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 16,173 people in 3,376 households.

This town is so beautiful, that nationally it is recognized as one of the most beautiful and once the cleanest town of the Philippines.^{[citation needed]}

Naawan is home of Mindanao State University - Naawan since field laboratory, later as research arm of the Mindanao State University College of Fisheries was first set up and then became autonomous external campus and distinct unit of the University System. MSU-Naawan also run Naawan Integrated Laboratory Science High School.
