[edit] Summary

Ed Swearingen developed the Metro as the logical conclusion to a series of modified aircraft and original designs, beginning with modified Beechcraft Twin Bonanzas and Beechcraft Queen Airs, then the Swearingen Merlin series and finally the Fairchild Swearingen Metroliner. Picured here is an Excalibur 800 conversion of a Beech D50E Twin Bonanza at the Staggerwing Museum at Tullahoma, Tennessee.
