N-arachidonoyl-dopamine, or NADA is a ligand (or chemical 'key') agonist (activator) to CB1 receptors which is an activation site for endocannabinoid and endovanilloid (aka vanilloid) ligands[1]. Specifically, NADA binds to both TRPV1 (a TRP-vanilloid cation channel receptor) and CB1 (an endocannabinoid receptor), a peculiarity among neurochemicals which normally bind to only one type of receptor.
