[edit] How to use this template

  • On the article or category page, where you want this infobox to appear, type the code {{myth box Christianity}}.
  • (For advanced users onlly:) You can embed this box inside a borderless table, if you need it to appear in a certain place like right, center or left side of the page.

[edit] Purpose and use of the Myth Box Template

The purpose of this template is to support Christian Religion Wikiproject Mythology articles, to use at the top of category pages or in sections of articles that discuss myth and mythology as a little "information box", so that you do not have to define or explain myth and mythology, in so many articles. There are also a general myth template available ({{myth box}}>) and maybe more over time will be added at Wikiproject Mythology template page. Please be careful editing this template noting it is shared by various Mythology project pages. If you want a variation to the box but slightly different wording for specific articles, it is suggested you cut and paste the html code that makes the table onto the page or new template, rather than change the general templates, since any changes here are shared and will show up on all articles that use this infobox. [edit] float right?

Isn't this box awfully wide to be floating right? Right floaters should be more vertical than horizontal, and wide horizontal ones should be centered. DreamGuy 21:09, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

I just knocked it down in width from 600px to 450 px does that work? I know each browser and monitor will be slightly different. Goldenrowley 20:37, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] necessary

I find it sad that Wikipedia has to stoop to such warning templates inteded to keep the unwashed masses from knee-jerk vandalism. We might as well slap giant warning templates on every article "please switch on your brain before editing". No doubt WP does get a lot of moronic edits, and if templates such as this help reduce them, that's a plus. But we should avoid insulting readers' intelligence just because some readers have none to be insulted. At least, make this smaller and turn it into a footnote. dab (𒁳) 15:00, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
