Myth War Online is a 2D free fantasy MMORPG published by IGG, the distributors of Voyage Century Online. It is set in a fictional universe inhabited by mythological creatures. Combat occurs similar to old RPG games such as Final Fantasy where a player forms a party (mainly consisting of pets) and each side take turn attacking each other.[1] This style of gameplay is created to appeal to a nostalgic classic RPG players.[2][3] Events and content addons occur every 2 months to meet with player demand.[3][4]

There are three different races a player can choose from. Each are unique in their own way
[edit] Humans
In the game, humans are a fallen tribe. The lives of humans are not affluent and stable. As a result, they have no choice but to do whatever they can even if it means doing something immoral or illegal. Humans are described as smart, reckless, wicked and go-getting.[3]
[edit] Centaurs
Similar to humans, centaurs have a long history and civilization. However, in contrast to the other races, centaurs have a social system whereby the female possesses a higher status than a male. They are prized to be noble and beautiful. Despite their warlike appearance, they love peace and like to live in a quiet environment. Centaurs are born with great agility and have a high intelligence level.[3]

Mages are normally a combination of humans and Centaurs. The race was cursed ever since it existed and was cursed again after they sold their souls to the dark lord. Although many have a deep hatred towards other races, some are intelligent enough to forgive and progress positively.[3][5]

Myth War Online has a large variety of gameplay that are both traditional to the MMORPG genre and those who are traditional to classic RPGs.[5]

Team play is Myth War Online’s party system. In Myth War, forming a team is one of the ways for adventure and completing quests. Players who are in a team will have a lighter burden in defeating the monsters and some quests require a team to accomplish.[6]
[edit] Attack Time Battle System
Myth War Online has one feature that makes it unique among the MMORPG genre and that is the attack time battle system. Although this system is elementary for a RPG games like Fire Emblem and Pokemon games, it is non-existent in the MMORPG genre. In this system, two sides engage in battle by taking turns fighting each other.[7] Player Killing and PVP are allowed in Myth War but they are strictly regulated.[8][9]

Myth War Online has an extensive group of pets that range from humanoid to dragons and holy to evil. A good majority of the pets in Myth War Online are able to be tamed and fight alongside you. Players can have a large amount of pets to aid them in battle.[10]

Myth War Online is a free to play MMORPG with the option to pay real money for in-game items.[9]
