[edit] Google
Hi, Can anybody tell me about how to get google to find wiki articles. Many wiki articles come high on the list of google searches (that is all apart from my Bullet (comic) article). Would like to see the words "Bullet Fireball" hit on google. (PeteBarnard (talk) 22:51, 21 April 2008 (UTC));
- It takes time for Google to index and cache new pages, and that needs to be done before it'll show up in a Google search. There's no way to know how long an index will take. The only thing you can do that might help is to create links to it. Google's performs its indexing and ranking based on other webpages' links. So if there's a Wikipedia page related to the one you worked on, you can create relevant links to the article. Other than that, I don't think there's anything else you can do from Wikipedia to change the results of Google's searches. --Mysdaao talk 00:56, 22 April 2008 (UTC);
- Thanks for that info. My article already contains a few relevant links from wiki pages so hopefully I will eventually see the article raise up the google rankings,
regards,

Hi Mysdaao, Just a quick question - I have noticed that when I click on the Bullet link in the Warlord(comic) article, sometimes it seems to take me to the Bullet edit page (which I can "show preview" etc and then the article appears). But at other times it just takes me to the article as it should - just wondered if this was some kind of bug, or is there something wrong with my link ?,
regards, Pete PeteBarnard (talk) 08:42, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Pete, I don't know why that could be happening. I've tried several times to click on the link for Bullet (comic) in Warlord (British comics), and it's worked correctly for me. Since the link in the page hasn't changed recently, I don't know why you would see different behavior. If the link is blue, it's supposed to take you to a completed page. If it's red, it means the page it's linking to doesn't exist, and the link will open a page to edit it. It sounds like a bug, but I don't know enough about it to know what could be causing it. --Mysdaao talk 12:26, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Regarding my page.
Thanks for the heads up, I didn't really know about that. I usually only make small edits, so I don't think of it as much of an accomplishment for me to mention. Thanks again though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by EsurientWar (talk • contribs) 04:43, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Changing article headlines
Hello.
Thanks for comments on my article about the XY No Trump Convention, hopefully I have now included sources reliable enough to meet the standards.
However, I realized, looking at some other articles, that I've done a slight mistake. "Convention" in the headline should of course be with a small "c" not a capital "C". Is there any way of changing this?
Thanks, Ek aljamarkiR
- Ek aljamarkiR, I was not the person that wrote the comments about XY No Trump Convention. I left the welcome message, and User:Accounting4Taste wrote the comments about the references in the article.
- You can change the article's title by pressing the "Move" tab at the top of the page and typing in the new title. Please see Help:Moving a page for more information on moving pages. And let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks. --Mysdaao talk 11:54, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
