Sherlock Holmes: Mystery of the Mummy is a graphical adventure game for Windows, developed by Frogwares and first released in 2002. You play as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's renowned inspector Sherlock Holmes, investigating the mysteriously abandoned mansion of British archeologist, Lord Montecalf.
The game is played from a first person view similar to other adventure games such as Myst and The 7th Guest.
The first in the Sherlock Holmes series of adventure games developed by Frogwares and Viva Media, it was followed by Sherlock Holmes: Secret of the Silver Earring in 2004 and Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened in 2006.
[edit] Trivia
This is not the first game to sport the title Mystery Of The Mummy. The first game to do so was another adventure game with a very similar plot and gameplay released on the 16-bit computer formats in the late 1980s. It was set in the early twentieth century and was itself heavily influenced by the Sherlock Holmes stories, although it actually starred an unnamed German amateur sleuth and his sidekick.
