Mystus is a genus of catfishes (order Siluriformes) of the family Bagridae.
Mystus is poorly diagnosed. Macrones had previously been used by earlier authors, but this generic name was preoccupied in Coleoptera.[4] Phylogenetic relationships within this genus are poorly understood, though it has been suggested that there are two major lineages.[2] It was confirmed in 2005 that this genus is paraphyletic.[2]
Mystus species originate from South and Southeast Asia.[3]
Mystus is a diverse group of small- to medium-sized catfishes.[2]
