[edit] How the site works
Launched in October 2005.[2], the site has grown in popularity through viral marketing and media interest. The unique selling point of the site is that dating profiles can be created not only by the user but also by third parties, the idea being that you can sign up your friends. Where a profile is created by a third party, it must be reviewed by the user before it appears on the site: a third party can not sign a user up without their consent. A further reason for its popularity is its community element - friends are linked together and can recommend potential dates to each other.
There is no cost for the creation of these profiles, the ability to send messages to other members costs £20 (Plus VAT) for a period of 3 calendar months [3].
In January 2007, The People newspaper announced that Talkback Thames were in discussions with Sarah Beeny to front a TV spin-off dating show based on the website [4].
In May 2007 the mysinglefriend.com book was launched.
[edit] My Single Friend Limited

Amanda is the company's Managing Director, and James is the company's Creative Director. Audited accounts for the period ending January 2007 showed a net worth for the Company of £63,273.
