In biology, the large family Mysidae is one of the principal subgroups within the order Mysidacea or mysid shrimps. Six sub-families are recognised.

The members of Mysidae are sometimes called fairy shrimps[1]. Their characteristic feature is the presence of a statocyst on the endopod of the uropod.
