I grew up in Myrtle Point and know a great deal about the history of the Myrtle Point and Broadbent, OR areas. I saw that a citation was needed for the logging museum in Myrtle Point and I believe if one were to use Google or a similar search engine they could easily find relevant pages on the history, hours of operation, and location of the logging museum. I found this page: http://www.museumsusa.org/museums/info/1160655

There are a few pioneer families that prominently figure in the history of Myrtle Point, including the Hermann family, which Hon. Binger Hermann and his father Dr. Henry Hermann were a part of. There is a good page on Binger Hermann here at wikipedia. The Shroeder family was also in Myrtle Point early on, as was the Dement family, the Barklow family, and the Baker family.

Some books that could be looked up for more information on Myrtle Point:

Pioneers and Incidents of the Upper Coquille Valley, 1890 - 1940 by Alice Wooldridge (1971). A collection of obituaries and antidotes as printed in the early Myrtle Point newspapers that referred to the original pioneers of the upper Coquille Valley (Myrtle Point, Arago, the Forks, Stringtown, Bridge, Rowland’s Prairie and Broadbent)

Myrtle Point Beginnings written by Curt Beckham ©1985 : contains over 560 individuals and places in its 67 pages.

I would do a lot of this editing and citing myself, but I'm new to this and I just got out of the hospital so I'm tired and need to rest for the moment. Thanks to everyone who has worked and will work on this article. Respectfully, Permalearning 07:34, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
