How exactly, in the English alphabet, is Myōga different from Myoga? The ginger is often spelled Myōga. This article has both spellings in it. Are they different words in Japanese? I think for clarity this should be reverted to Myoga (Inuyasha), or if it really needs the "ō", then Myōga (Inuyasha). -- WormRunner 20:52, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

It is properly Myōga. When Japanese is written in rōmaji, Roman letters, the length of the vowel in a word is used to discern its meaning. That is why obasan and obāsan mean two different things: 'aunt' and 'grandmother,' respectively. The characters used to spell his name do use the "ō." Mazu tsai 09:02, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
