[edit] Gliding at Myouyama
The gliding at Myouyama requires neither registration nor inscription fee. The launch is shallow, suitable for novice pilots. The area of order of 1 km2 can be used for both launch and landing. In addition, there is free landing as cortesy of the Minami Green Hill resort [1] in vicinity of lake Yamanaka. Also, the most of coast of lake Yamanaka is free of constructions and enough wide. [3] The multiple tennis corts and football fields can serve for an emergency landing.
Wind from West or North-West is good for soaring; this makes the site complementary to Gotenba Gogome and Zubashiri at Mt. Fuji (20 minute to drive from Myouyama). The lake Yamanaka makes the lift smooth; at other wind ridections, the lift is bumpy.

The road 730 can be used from Lake Yamanaka, then after the sudden right turn, road 147. The last 100 meters of altitude require hike from the saddle-point, where the road crosses the ridge. There is free parking there.
