Myoko Naganuma

Mrs. Myoko Naganuma (長沼妙佼: Naganuma Myōkō) (1889-1957) was the co-founder and first vice-president of the Buddhist religious sect Risshō Kōsei Kai.

[edit] Involment in Rissho Kosei-kai

Mrs. Naganuma first met Mr. Niwano during his missionary trips. He talked with her about the Lotus Sutra and other Buddhist teachings. She, along with Mr.Nikkyo Niwano founded Rissho Kosei-kai on March 5, 1938. Mr. Niwano was her close friend and had converted her to Buddhism. She was well known for her devotion to the missionary work.

Mrs. Naganuma passed away on September 10, 1957. She is still highly regarded and respected by members of Rissho Kosei-kai.
