[edit] MNTV, a failure?
Is it safe yet to call MyNetworkTV a failure? DtownG 01:33, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- I wouldn't necessarily call it a failure yet, but I've heard NewsCorp is losing faith in the telenovela concept. They should just try bringing FX to TV, or perhaps they can run the little-known syndication network (can't remember name) that produces Cold Squad, etc. for airing on weekends.
- If you're suggesting calling it a failure in the article, the principles of NPOV say it's not a failure until it's disbanded. Morgan Wick 01:34, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- No. Just striking up conversation. — DtownG 04:45, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] English-translations of telenovelas
Clicking through some of pages for the individual shows shown on MyTV, they all appaear to be original soaps - if they're based on English translations of Spanish-language telenovelas, this isn't evident.. Unmake 02:45, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- I was going to keep this unsourced statement, but after reading Unmake's contribution, I will change it to be more correct. - Desmond Hobson 19:29, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
The shows are not translated directly from the Spanish-language scripts; instead, the writers take the basic concept of the original show and create an entirely new series, including new scripts and storylines.
[edit] My Network TV template?
I'm new to the wiki for editing, but I was wondering if someone with more experience could create a template that would list the MNTV shows so the soaps pages would be easily linked together with some sort of uniform look to them. I'm still looking how to create something like this. Brian25j 03:27, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
- I actually saw the need and created Template:MyNetworkTV telenovelas on February 5, 2007 (and put it on all the telenovela individual articles). I just noticed your request for it, so I wanted to make a note here. TAnthony 01:41, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New names of telenovelas
I believe the new names for the as-yet unfilmed upcoming novelas are "Friends with Benefits" and "Rule of Deception." Yakuman
MyNetworkTV likes to rename its novelas. "Friends & Enemies" was retitled "Friends with Benefits" and "To Love & Die" was retitled "American Heiress." I have changed all entries to the new titles, although "Enemies" and "Love" now have orphaned articles. 75.212.209.75 07:43, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- I've turned the orphans into redirects to the new titles, making sure there was no unique information to preserve. I also noted the "original" titles in the new articles. TAnthony 16:24, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
More MyNetworkTV confusion: I tried to track down more details on "Roses" and discovered it was the same show as "Rule of Deception." "Roses" was a translation of the Spanish title, while "Deception" was the name that appeared in MY's publicity material. I've seen a rumor that Fox may try to revamp the unproduced novelas for daytime or cable, but I can't find any verifiable sources on that. Yakuman
Just when I thought I was done with this, I notice verifiable media references to "Rule" and "Rules" of Deception. Hence the confusion. Looking at MYNT's preseason announcement, it's "Rules." So we go with that. Argh! All of these shows have two names. I used a trade article [1] as my Rosetta Stone for these shows, at least in their original form. It let me down in one little area. Yakuman 03:39, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] MY Future
Since MY is phasing out its telenovela format, I would like to spin off that part of this article. What we have here is getting pretty long and detailed -- and I think both topics would best be handled separately. Yakuman 21:32, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
And is there somewhere I can actually find the day-to-day MY ratings? Yakuman 05:46, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] End to all Telenovelas?
Though this is pure conjecture, it is possible that MyNetwork TV has permanently removed its telenovelas from its line-up? Reviewing the TV guide from my Local newspaper (the Los Angeles Times), I have noticed that both Tuesdays and Wednesdays programming consisted of previously aired specials on Elton John's birthday concert, Anna Nicole Simpson, and Britney Spears.--Kevin586 18:15, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:MNTVHDIdent.jpg
Image:MNTVHDIdent.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Request to update the schedule template
Is the current programming schedule out of date? Admittedly I do not all of its shows, The wednesday slot has now been filled by an hour of "Whacked Out Videos" and those entertainment specials showing how tricks done and how psyhics work.--Kevin586 (talk) 17:50, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- I can't but wonder if I am the only that actually watches this network but I digress.
- What has happened to Meet My Folks? Has Gone into hiatus or outright removed from the current schedule? Since MNTV premiered its new lineup, Wednesdays at 21:00 have been nothing but magic shows and exposes on how they are done.--Kevin586 (talk) 20:44, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Channel?
What channel is this network? For DishNetwork, Direct TV, Comcast etc. Goblin Knight (talk) 22:08, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- It is not one channel in particular, just like any other network affiliate. Check your listings for accurate information. Hazardous Matt 23:27, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Desperate Housewives Reruns on MyNetworkTV Owned and Operated Stations, Part II
Have any of the MyNetworkTV O&Os (and affiliates), incluing WPWR-TV in Chicago, Illinois, made any plans to air reruns of Desperate Housewives yet? And when in the Fall of 2008 will they air? AdamDeanHall (talk) 15:28, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] What's the Channel?
Why the hell is the channel listing not on this page. What channel is it on Dish Network, Direct TV and Comcast? Goblin Knight (talk) 21:18, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
