[edit] Notability of Vampire: Undeath v.1

A tag has been placed on Vampire: Undeath v.1, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Andante1980 12:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Nomination: Vampire: Undeath v.1

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that Vampire: Undeath v.1 meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vampire: Undeath v.1. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third-party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. DES (talk) 16:05, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Dark Phoenix Publishing inc.. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. ukexpat (talk) 02:34, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Adonis (Vampire:Undeath)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Exalted (G.A.M.E)

If you wish to contest the deletions of the articles, please go to WP:DRV. The articles were previously deleted in June 2007 through WP:AFD with an overwhelming consensus. Go to DRV and state why you think the articles should be restored. Please cite any relevant Wikipedia policies that may help your case. Nishkid64 (talk) 03:22, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes I did. The G.A.M.E article was deleted through WP:AFD. I doubt that the vampires in the role-playing game would be notable enough for an article when the game itself doesn't have an article. Nishkid64 (talk) 03:38, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I wasn't stalking your edits. I saw a number of your articles up for speedy deletion, so I deleted them. Also, I said WP:DRV was the appropriate place to ask for the article deletions to be overturned. However, as I told you before, we have notability guidelines. See WP:CORP for example. An article on Dark Phoenix Publishing needs to meet those notability guidelines to be included in this encyclopedia. As you stated, White Wolf is a much more notable gaming company and it meets our notability guidelines, so the company is suitable for an article on Wikipedia. That doesn't seem to be the case for Dark Phoenix Publishing and any of its games. In any case, please go to WP:DRV and state how your company and game meet WP:NOTABILITY guidelines. Nishkid64 (talk) 04:23, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
We have notability guidelines to determine what can and cannot be on the website. These guidelines are here for a reason - to prevent people from just posting whatever they want here. When an article is tagged for speedy deletion, it appears at CAT:CSD. Administrators can then look at the articles there and choose to delete them. That's all I did. There is no stalking going on. I advise you to read our notability guidelines, like WP:CORP for example. Judging from your comments on my talk page, it appears you still haven't read the guidelines. I would hope that if you do, then you will understand why your articles were deleted.
Articles on companies (like Dark Phoenix Publishing) need to meet those guidelines or else they will be deleted from Wikipedia. That's how we define notability. It's different than your definition of notability, but we have to draw the line somewhere to prevent people from posting articles on companies that they just created yesterday. Best, Nishkid64 (talk) 17:22, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
From WP:CORP: "A company, corporation, organization, team, religion, group, product, or service is notable if it has been the subject of coverage in secondary sources. Such sources must be reliable, and independent of the subject. The depth of coverage of the subject by the source must be considered. If the depth of coverage is not substantial, then multiple independent sources should be cited to establish notability. Trivial or incidental coverage of a subject by secondary sources is not sufficient to establish notability. Once notability is established, primary sources may be used to add content. Ultimately, and most importantly, all content must be attributable." The company, to my knowledge, has not been covered by independent reliable sources (reliable sources do not include blogs or forum posts). I already told you why your article was deleted. It did not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Articles must adhere to these guidelines. I told you that if you wish to contest the deletion of your articles, go to WP:DRV. The only person who would be considered a "superior" is Jimbo Wales, the founder of Wikipedia. You can find his contact details on his userpage. He will tell what I have been telling you this whole time. Nishkid64 (talk) 03:18, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Also, there is no discrimination here. We would love to have your article about your company on Wikipedia, but it has to meet WP:CORP. The article does not meet these guidelines. That's why the article was deleted. Nishkid64 (talk) 03:19, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 03:48, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your message on my talk page

Thank you for your recent message on my talk page. First, please be civil when leaving messages on talk pages; second as to the reasons for the deletion of the articles you have created, they do not meet the notability guidelines and see reason given by Nishkid64 above.--ukexpat (talk) 03:49, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
