I had changed the description of the pride flag, only after I noticed a few days ago that the article had been deleted! Keep your eye on it, please, so that it doesn't get suddenly deleted again. Thanks. Gilliamjf 00:46, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User draft in category

Hello Myfanwy. I noticed that in your scratchpad / draft / alternative article User:Myfanwy/Bus Stop you have the categories still activated, so it's showing up in Category:Shelter and in several others. You have a similar situation in your User:Myfanwy/BiFest and User:Myfanwy/BiCon (2) articles. Could I suggest that you deactivate the category links (by putting a colon before 'Category' in the link) until such time as the article is in the mainspace rather than the userspace? (As per WP:CG, "If you copy an article to your user namespace (for example, as a temporary draft or in response to an edit war) you should decategorize it".) Cheers! -- Henge 18:09, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia's LGBT Community

Hi, Myfanwy!
You've indicated through various means (a userbox, membership in a category, etc) that you are part of the Wikipedia LGBT community, or are interested in Wikipedia's LGBT related pages. Welcome!

You may not know that Wikipedia has both an LGBT Notice Board and an LGBT Studies WikiProject. If you haven't yet done so, take a look at both of them. They sorely need attention and participation!

Some things on the "To-Do List" that merit particular attention include:

  1. Identifying topics/pages that need attention
  2. Identifying problems that need addressing
  1. Adding the LGBT Template to appropriate pages
  2. Categorizing LGBT pages

Please feel free to participate in any or all of these activities! And if you feel like it, add yourself to either the Noticeboard Members or the WikiProject Participants - or both!

Glad you're a part of Wikipedia - and Thanks! This invitation posted here by SatyrTN -- talk
Please remove it if you so desire.

[edit] reversion at BiCon (UK)

hi i noticed that you felt piping was somehow unneccessary at the above page in its reference to sexuality. It's part of the project to try and link to specific articles whenever, not disambiguation pages (DABs). I chose sexual orientation because that seemed to be the context in which "sexuality" was being used. By linking to a DAB you are implying that the sentence detailing foci of BiCon would also encompass Bestiality, Asexuality, and Animal sexuality. i'll admit that i am unfamilar with BiCon out in the UK (i live in the US), so i may be unfamiliar with their scope, perhaps we can compromise by piping it to human sexuality? pls reply on my talk page -Zappernapper Babelstalk 22:01, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

ok then, i changed it to pipe to human sexuality. That way there is now the distinction from animal sexuality and just human sexual behavior. -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 14:22, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Invitation.

Hello! I saw your edits to LGBT and would like to invite you to join WikiProject LGBT studies. We could do with someone like you! Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 22:50, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Really, this wasn't a form invitation, I would genuinely be delighted to welcome you to the project. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 22:20, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Hitachi_A-train,_CTRL_domestic_&_Olympic_Shuttle.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hitachi_A-train,_CTRL_domestic_&_Olympic_Shuttle.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:10, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Bicon

A tag has been placed on Bicon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Brianga (talk) 09:25, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
