Myconid

Myconids are a race of intelligent roughly humanoid fungus found in the Dungeons and Dragons Role-playing game. They first appeared in module A4, "In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords". They were covered in the first edition Monster Manual II, in the second edition's Monstrous Compendium, and most recently in Dragon issue #292 and the third edition Monster Manual 2.

Myconids communicate by emitting spores, and older Myconids are able to achieve several magical effects with their spores including the temporary animation of dead animals into a form of undead.
