Myawaddy is a town in Myanmar close to the border with Thailand.
It is separated from the Thai border town of Mae Sot by the Moei River.
This small town is most important transit point for the Thai consumer goods flowing into Myanmar. Thailand built the highway inside Myanmar connecting Myawaddy and Nyinaung Village as part of the Asian highway. Still another 50 km stratch is very narrow road cross the mountain and can go only one vehicle as one way road. Every other day, change the direction up and down.
