My Very Private Map is a 1999 album by Ten in the Swear Jar. It is their first album. The cover is said to depict songs from the album and Jamie Stewart's special place in San Francisco. Many of these songs became songs for Jamie's later band, Xiu Xiu. The song Sad Girl becomes Sad Pony Guerilla Girl on A Promise. Helsabot stays Helsabot. Some songs even came from IBOPA, Jamie's previous band (such as When You Write).

[edit] The Very Private Map

Original printings actually included a very private map with directions on it. The directions ultimately lead to a beautiful overlook near San Francisco. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge North. Exit Alexander, take immediate left towards Marin Headlands. Go under highway and turn right towards Conzelman. Go down the narrow one way road towards Pt. Bonita.

Park past Battery Wallace and walk through the first bunker behind you. Follow the footpath past the blue buildings to the Battery Mendel. Climb the footpath on the right side of the Battery. Follow the cliff path towards the radar tower (you will see the isle of pelican poo on your right) Go under the Tree of Ribbons, climb 17 steps.
