"My Soul Pleads for You" is the second single from Simon Webbe's second album. The track was announced as the second release on the 12 December 2006, through Webbe's official website.
The B-side for the single is "When You Were Young", a cover version of The Killers single. The track was recorded live at Jo Whiley's BBC radio show Live Lounge and after many requests on BBC radio, Webbe decided to make it the B-side for "My Soul Pleads for You".
Due to the disappointing performance of previous single "Coming Around Again" around the world, the single was originally not supposed to be released outside the UK[citation needed], but in April the single was released in the Netherlands after notable airplay and live performances by Webbe (especially the Radio 538 Queens Day-concert in Amsterdam) in that country. The single subsequently reached the Dutch pre-top 40.
The single was pre-released via the iTunes services in late January 2007, but failed to reach the Top 100 Singles ahead of its physical release in February. The single finally only peaked at #45 in the UK, being the second worst single chart performance for a Blue member, behind his ex-band-mate Duncan James's single "Can't Stop A River", which peaked at #59.
