[edit] Plot

J.D. and Turk try to beat the system to treat Kelso's uninsured friend (Victoria Tennant). Elsewhere, the Janitor blackmails Carla with a case of mistaken dog identity (My First Kill). Meanwhile, Dr. Cox tries to convince Elliot that a reformed drug addict (My Moment of Un-Truth and My Rite of Passage) isn't quite clean. All the while the entire staff is condemned to wearing dirt brown scrubs when Kelso suspects a clothing thief in their midst. This, in turn, causes the hospital staff to not treat his friend Maggie for fear of being fired. When Kelso discovers her going untreated, he allows the staff to return to their normal scrubs and the stealing of said scrubs. He reveals that he knows full well there is a method to cheat the insurance and had expected the group to go through with it. In My Two Dads Cox had not followed this method and got in trouble.

Maggie is last seen being treated, even with Dr. Kelso's full knowledge of her not having insurance and the scrubs stealing.

[edit] Quotes

  • Nurse Roberts (before punching the window of Carla's car to get Steven): Let's do this! LAVERNE ROBERTS!
Carla: LAVERNE! I got the keys right here!
  • The Janitor (sounding like Rowdy): Well howdy boys, remember me?
    Ted: Ghost dog! Ghost dog!
  • Turk (after finding Rowdy and Steven together): Aw! Look at those two standing next to each other; two beautiful dead dogs.
  • Ted (explaining the busted transformer to Dr. Kelso): I'm telling you sir, a lifeless ghost dog, glided in front of my car, wearing roller skates!
  • The Todd: Dude, I've had a pro bono like all morning. Something-Might-Be-Wrong Five!
  • Sam: You don't know how hard it's been to stay straight.
The Todd: Been there brother (then looks down at Sam's butt)
  • Kelso (after asking for confesstions regarding stolen scrubs) : There! Now you all have to wear scrubs so hidious that no one would steal them, you brought this on yourselves you thieving bastards.

[edit] Trivia

  • Dr. Cox's mentions how he hates summing up the storyline in "Grey's Anatomy", which is what 'Scrubs' does at the end of every episode. This is the second reference made to the show, the first being in "My Buddy's Booty". Elliot dislikes generic voiceovers; J.D. then walks by doing just such a one.
  • The advert for the baby tracker reads "for white babies" and "protects your precious one from freaks and weirdos!" Also, the website for the product is "www.babytracker.poo".

[edit] Cultural References

  • When Nurse Roberts punches through the car window, she shouts "Let's do this: LAVERNE ROBERTS!" This is a parody of the World of Warcraft character, Leeroy Jenkins, also parodied by Guild Wars' Kilroy Stonekin.
