[edit] Plot

When J.D. develops vasovagal syncope, a condition which results in fainting or blackouts whenever he defecates, he finds himself not only having to deal with losing his girlfriend and his apartment, but also his consciousness. Elliot and Turk debate over whose turn it is to take care of the always luckless attending, while Carla tries out her new excuse: "I have a baby". Elsewhere, the Janitor appears to have gone on a cruise vacation for janitors.

A Croatian surgeon named Miloš comes to Sacred Heart, but he has to repeat his residency in the US. He outperforms the other surgical residents and his cocky attitude irritates Turk.

[edit] Continuity

  • It is revealed in this episode that Colonel Doctor is the father of the regularly seen delivery guy, Lloyd (Mike Schwartz, who is a writer for the show). Essentially, this is a fan in-joke.
  • J.D.'s "handsy" behavior after a few drinks was previously seen in "My Best Laid Plans".
  • Judy Reyes (Carla) is seen using a cane because she fractured her pelvis. Her fractured pelvis also prevented some dancing sequences in the "My Musical" episode.

[edit] Names

  • Miloš' surname appears to be Radovicnouizicioiuizcinicizich'l, though according to Miloš he was going to "come back and finish later." At the end of the episode there seems to be a reference to The Shawshank Redemption when Miloš is seen in the famous Shawshank pose.
  • During the scene where Kelso erases Turk's name from the surgery board, the names Dorian and Cox also appear under the List of "Surgeons".
  • The e-mail that the Janitor sends to Ted pretending to be on the cruise ship is signed, Janitor.

[edit] Competition

  • In this episode J.D. wears the shirt that was designed by the winner of a competition on Threadless. The t-shirt appears in the scene where J.D. is on his half acre when the police arrive. The t-shirt's design has a man with his arm stuck in a vending machine - making reference to Turk's situation while his daughter was being born in "My Best Friend's Baby's Baby and My Baby's Baby" where Turk got his hand stuck in an ice machine and also when Turk got his hand stuck in a vending machine after not receiving his intended product ("I paid for my Rolos, I'm getting my Rolos") in "My Jiggly Ball."[1]
