My Love Is Waiting
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"My Love is Waiting" is an electro-funk, Caribbean-styled song released by singer Marvin Gaye on the CBS label in 1983.
Written by Gaye's musical director and guitarist Gordon Banks and produced by Gaye, the song talked of a man coming back to his lover after a long time away.
Ironically, the song also resonated with Gaye's return to the United States several years after leaving for Europe to escape from IRS problems and a debilitating drug problem.
Recorded in Belgium where the singer was then sober, Marvin used the song as the final song from Gaye's album, Midnight Love as he thanked people who helped him out on the album before giving thanks to Jesus before the sound started.
While it wasn't released in the US, it did register on the UK Singles Chart peaking at number thirty-four on the chart.
