My Girl is an adaptation of the hit Korean drama series of the same title. The original series was aired by ABS-CBN in 2006. This is the first adaptation of a Korean drama series (also called Koreanovela in the Philippines) for Philippine TV.

Jasmine, a Fil-Chinese girl whose zest for life never wavers despite her endless struggles. Her destiny changes once she crosses paths with Julian (Gerald Anderson) who asks her to pretend to be his long-lost cousin to grant his grandfather’s dying wish. As they carry on with their charade, however, Jasmine learns that nothing good will come out of the ruse, especially when it leads to some romantic confusion. In an increasingly complicated situation, where will fate lead these "partners in crime?"

The Pinoy version of the hit Korean drama series, My Girl, starring Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson, premiered last May 26. It became the number one show of ABS-CBN and ranked no. 4 in the Mega Manila. [2]

- Jasmine speaks Tagalog, Cebuano, and Mandarin as opposed to Yoo Rin's Korean, Mandarin, and Japanese.
- Julian's cousin Hannah is said to be in China. Gong Chan's cousin is in Japan.
- The mandarin orchard was replaced with mango orchard.
- Annika is a beauty pageant queen. Seo Hyun was a tennis player.
- Nico was touring around the Philippines while Jung-woo is touring around the world.

ABS-CBN via Star Records Philippines released the "My Girl: The Original Teleserye Soundtrack" featuring its carrier single "Sabihin Mo Na" revived by Pinoy Dream Academy alumna Yeng Constantino originally sung by Top Suzara. The album also includes "Crazy Love (Chinese version)" performed by Kim Chiu, a duet of "Sabihin Mo Na" by Kim and Gerald, "My Girl" by Sam Milby, "Gulo, Hilo, Lito," by ex-Moonstar 88 vocalist Acel van Ommen and others.
