My Dear Kuttichathan

My Dear Kuttichathan is the first 3D film made in India in 1984.[1] The movie was released by Navodaya studio and directed by Jijo Punnoose.

The story mainly revolves around a group of kids who kindle the spirit of a chathan (which in malayalam translates to a genie). The chathan becomes friendly to the kids and there is an adventure ride in store for the kids. First 3D movie to be produced in India, it used the latest technologies available then. It was released again in 1997 with some new sequences and it was the first film to introduce DTS sound in India. (citation needed)
