[edit] About Michael Walter Parenteau

I grew up in a small town in Vermont and I currently live in San Francisco. I've also lived in Boston and New Orleans. I work at an all-natural foods store. I believe veganism is best for humankind, animalkind, and the environment. My bicycle is my transportation and the highlight of every month is Critical Mass. I live in a vegetarian co-op, The Purple House, with many roommates and chickens. I volunteer at an afterschool program. I like not buying things, riding my bike, feeding the hungry, co-operatives of all kinds, and studying U.S. history. I find hierarchy unnerving. I think society should be organized to produce for human needs rather than private profits. I try to leave a small footprint on the world and minimize suffering. I find growing food and living in a close-knit community to be ideal.
