Mwera

The Mwera are an ethnic and linguistic group based in southern Tanzania. In 2001 the Mwera population was estimated to number 469,000.[1]

Mwera is also the name of a village in Zanzibar east of Zanzibar City on the road to the western coast of the island. This was the birthplace of Abeid Karume, the first President after the 1964 revolution.
