MV Lochnevis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
MV Lochnevis is the only ferry operating in the Small Isles by Caledonian MacBrayne. She is 49.2m in Length and 11.4m in Breadth and her gross tonnage is 941. She can hold 190 passengers and 14 cars.
The car deck is usually used for goods and vital equipment for the islands. Lochnevis has a surprisingly large vehicle ramp, which dominates her appearance. This is to allow her to berth a considerable distance from linkspans so as to protect her exposed azi-pod propulsion systems in shallow waters.
