MV Katama

The M/V Katama is a freight ferry boat operated by the The Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority. The ship is named after the Katama region of Martha's Vineyard. The ship entered service and 1981 and was acquired by the Steamship Authority in 1988. She is 235 feet long, 40 feet wide and has a speed of 13.5 knots. She was designed by Guarino & Cox as a platform supply vessel and is a sister ship to M/V Gay Head.
