The M/V Evergreen State is an Evergreen State Class ferry in the Washington State Ferry System. She is named for Washington whose nickname is "The Evergreen State."
As of mid 2007, she is being used for back-up services and has recently been in service on the Anacortes-San Juan Islands and Southworth/Vashon Island-Fauntleroy routes.
[edit] Back Up Work
Since May 9th 2007 this ferry has been used for back up services. In the San Juans it has replace the Chelan for 2 days due to maintenance, it has been the Inter Island vessel in the SanJuans, it worked on the Mukilteo--Clinton run for a few hours, and went to Fauntleroy--Vashon--Southworth run. It returned to the San Juans but had been replaced by the Quinault. Now the Quinault has disappeared and the Evergreen State is back in the San Juans. The Hiyu replaced the Evergreen State for a week for an inspection. As of July 24th 2007 the Evergreen State is working the Inter Island route in the San Juans.
