The M/V Chelan is a Issaquah 130 Class ferry in the Washington State Ferry System. In 2005, she was upgraded to meet the SOLAS, or Safety Of Life At Sea, standards. This allows the Chelan to be certified to make the crossing between the United States and British Columbia. Several months after being upgraded, the only other WSF vessel that carries the certification, the Elwha, suffered mechanical issues and is predicted to be out of service until February 2007.

As of late 2007, she is serving the Seattle-Bremerton, Washington route.[3].
