MV Amastra was an Anglo Saxon Royal Dutch/Shell tanker converted to Merchant Aircraft Carrier (MAC ship).
Entered service as MAC ship August 1943.
Displacement 8,000 tons. Converted by Smith's Yard, North Shields.
