Mutharasan is a King who governed the land and sourounding lands in early centuries. So this village is called as Mutharasanallur (முத்தரசநல்லூர்). This village has very old temples with steles which depicts the history of the old kings. And this temples are protected by the Indian Archaeological Departments.
