[edit] Taio Cruz Departure

There is no confirmed tracklisiting for taio cruz as of yet. The only tracklisiting to leak is hte advance copy which is not real!Trimy67 (talk) 21:54, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Confirm?

"This file has been uploaded by Taio Cruz and Taio Cruz Limited..." -- Could you confirm that you are Taio Cruz? --Geniac (talk) 01:37, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

I couldn't find an email address for Cruz on his official website to ask about this, which is rather frustrating. In this case, it doesn't matter if you can prove who you are or not. What matters is if it can be proven that Image:Taio Cruz In 2008 New.jpg has been released into the public domain or not. The easiest way to do that is for his official website to display the image with the text of {{PD-self}} under it. --Geniac (talk) 19:21, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
I haven't been able to find this image on his official website. Could you provide a URL where it can be found there, with a statement that is has been released into the public domain? --Geniac (talk) 19:40, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Possibly unfree Image:Taio Cruz In 2008 New.jpg

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Taio Cruz In 2008 New.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. [edit] Contact

I am Taio's assistant and I AM here on behalf of Taio Cruz. The image i uploaded IS officially released into the public domain. The Image is not on his official website simply because "it just isn't" The Picture however is uploaded to his myspace page and i shall add the caption "Released to Public Domain" now.

To send a message to Taio or a representative

Message him at: Myspace.com/taiocruzmusic or on his "open to the public" email address Sendcruzmusic@gmail.com (email address is given out on his myspace page).

Info@taiocruzmusic.co.uk is also an address you could contact but i don't run this area. It's controlled by his record label, Island Records UK. Musikshun (talk) 23:34, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: A Tale Of Two Pictures!

  1. "I don't understand why you think i'm trying to bury the picture." - Placing an image at the very bottom of an article in a section of its own is burying it.
  2. "Looking at other Wikipedia pages there are NONE i repeat NONE that i have seen the have two pictures of the artist right next to each other like this." - Fair enough. There probably should be some space between them. I've chosen the discography section because it is the right length to fit the image and the album and single tables don't fill the width of the section.
  3. "I'm not from some big corporate organization..." - It really wouldn't matter if you were; individuals, companies, organizations and government agencies (including the US DOJ) are bound by the same rules when editing Wikipedia.
  4. "...that you need to "take down" haha." - We don't "take down" here, we revert, block, ignore. (when i said take down i meant "take down the corporation" and it was a joke. sheesh, no sense of humor on here no?)
  5. "If you like i can create the "more pictures" section directly below the "biography" section. That way it's still at the top of the page and highly visible, but is neatly placed in its own section." - No, a single image shouldn't go in a section of its own. If and only if there are ever several pictures that don't fit in the article body, a WP:GALLERY could be made.

[edit] This Is Getting Ridiculous

I don't even understand why you/holly are so adamant about having this picture displayed. If i'm not mistaken the objective of the main image is to display the truest likeness of the person in question. It is quite obvious that the picture Taio asked me to upload shows his face clearly in a non-distorted or contorted way. Holly's picture does not display the most accurate likeness of Taio but still i'm trying so hard to make this work.

Placing it in the discography section when it has nothing to do with the discography just doesn't make sense to me. Im sure if i were to create a WP gallery for this image you would class it as me burying the image. Its a vicious cycle.Musikshun (talk) 02:16, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Where did you read that the objective of an image in an infobox is to display the truest likeness of the person in question? I don't see anything about that at Wikipedia:Images. His face is slightly contorted in the singing photo only because he is singing instead of posing. I'm sure people understand that a singer's face is contorted when they are singing and not because that's their natural, relaxed face. Although helpful, it's not required that images be placed in sections that relate to the image. Besides, nearly the entire article is about him as a singer; there's only one sentence not related to music; "Taio Cruz was born to a Nigerian father and Brazilian mother, and raised in London, England." Again, I placed it in the Discography section because there was space there. I didn't suggest creating a gallery for this image; quite the opposite. --Geniac (talk) 13:10, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

So what you're saying is you feel it makes more sense to place this image in a non-applicable section than it is to create a new section that directly relates to the image (and any future images) Musikshun (talk) 14:04, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes. A separate gallery section should not be created until more images are placed into the article and the images do not fit in the body of the article. --Geniac (talk) 00:23, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

I feel you are edit warring and not trying to compromise with me. You are simply stating that your way of doing things is right and thats it, reverting any attempts i make to create a cleaner solution. Even though i thought it was silly to have two pictures on the front page i accepted it in the spirit of compromise. All i ask is that the page be constructed in an aesthetically pleasing fashion that presents a professional image to the reader and general public. I may have to contact a(/another) wikipedia administrator to help resolve this issue. ( i can't believe that on such a small thing we are going back and forth for so long)Musikshun (talk) 23:57, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

If you wish input from other users, a good first step is to ask for it on the article's talk page, one of the first steps in dispute resolution, as stated at WP:DR#Discuss. If there are no replies from other users in a day or two, you may wish for a third opinion. --Geniac (talk) 12:47, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
