[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:B2B.png

Thanks for uploading Image:B2B.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image:B2B.png listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded, Image:B2B.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Also, please do not upload fake album covers. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 21:45, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:SFIS2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:SFIS2.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:08, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism?

Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Paris Hilton. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. --Yamla 23:34, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to Paris Hilton, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Yamla 22:53, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use

Detailed fair-use rationales are not optional for copyrighted images. You forgot to add a detailed fair-use rationale for Image:Parishiltoncover.jpg and possibly other images you have uploaded. Please do not upload any more images until you have corrected all the ones you have uploaded so far. Thank you. --Yamla 23:35, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

You said: "How did vadilize the Paris Hilton page. I added her album cover. How is that vandilizim plus the info for the Paris album cover is all true."

Did you even look at the preview? And the information on the image page is missing the detailed fair-use rationale. --Yamla 23:42, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Paris release date

On the PARIS page, you have the 7th as the Release date in the USA but that is a monday. CDs are released on Tuesdays in the USA. Please check your sources. Even websites say it will be released on the 8th of August in the USA.

The provided citation clearly shows a release date of the 7th. Please check WP:CITE and WP:V. --Yamla 23:07, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
You said: "But that's the thing. THE USA RELEASE DATE, THE OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE IS TUESDAY, AUGUST 8TH, 2006 NOT THAT 7TH AND YOU SHOULD MAKE IT THAT WAY. USA NEVER RELEASES ALBUMS ON MONDAYS!!"
You are confused. Please reread WP:V. The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. Please provide an alternate citation if you disagree. Otherwise, the date of the 7th must stay. --Yamla 23:12, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

You said: "I am not confused at all. Paris Hilton's album WILL be released on the 8th of August in the USA. Please change the date to the 8th please and this argument will end." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Musicfreak7676 (talkcontribs)

Yet again, I direct you to WP:V. Until you can provide a better citation than is listed, the date must stay. Because you keep on missing it, please read WP:V and WP:CITE. Also, please sign your comments. I can explain how if you do not understand. --Yamla 23:21, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

You said: "If I can someone provide sources that say the album will drop on the 8th, will you change the date?" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Musicfreak7676 (talkcontribs)

Yes, the information can be changed with a reliable citation, as I have mentioned several times already. And please sign your posts. --Yamla 23:24, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

You said: "Parisfan.org has reported the release date of August 8th."

Please reread WP:RS, a fansite is not a reliable source. --Yamla 00:52, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ciaraevolutionnq3.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Ciaraevolutionnq3.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 23:48, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:67d49b24-b099-4a7a-bd17-a332ec02081e.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:67d49b24-b099-4a7a-bd17-a332ec02081e.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 17:30, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Instant Star interview

Saw you're a fan of Alexz, thought you might be able to help. I've organized an interview with Tyler Kyte from the show (he's Vincent Spiederman), and I'm trying to figure out some questions to ask. If you've got any ideas, give me a shout at user talk:zanimum. -- Zanimum 20:54, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for asking. How did you manage to get an interview with him. I will definitley be helping out.
User:Musicfreak7676
I just asked him on his MySpace. He I guess just happened to be logged on, because minutes later, he said yes. I guess you never know until you try. Glad to hear you're interested. -- Zanimum 21:42, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
That's awesome. I wish I could do that with Alexz. -- User:Musicfreak7676
Well, once Wikinews has a few smaller interviews under it's belt, we can definitely try to get her. I'm try to start small, and build up a track record so we can develop the trust and admiration of bigger stars and their PR people. -- Zanimum 14:46, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Alana Grace

Thanks very much for your work on the Alexz Johnson and Instant Star articles. It's good to have a team approach on these.

When I was listening to Alexz Johnson in iTunes, I followed the "listeners also liked" links over to a new singer by the name of Alana Grace, and liked her work so much that I did a Wikipedia article on her. That article is now up for deletion on the grounds that she is not sufficiently notable.

As an Alexz fan, you might like her music as well. It's at: [1]. If you do, maybe you could put in a good word for keeping her article in Wikipedia, at: [2]

Thanks again for your work on the Alexz Johnson and Instant Star articles.

[edit] Alexz Johnson and Instant Star - Timing of CD and DVD

By the way, it was the Executive Producer of Instant Star who said that the DVD would be out soon, so yes, the DVD is a real thing. (It would have been nice to get it out before Christmas.)

As for timing of Alexz' CD, October makes sense: she starts recording it early in the New Year; she will want to get a bounce from Season 3 of Instant Star; and the soundtrack for Season 3 will be out around April, if past practice is any guide. She's a bit of perfectionist (a very positive thing, in my view), and will want to get it right, which will take time, so yes, October looks like the best bet, which still builds in a month of possible slippage before Christmas.

[edit] Tyler Kyte Interview

Later today, I'll be posting a number of suggested questions on Zanimum's user talk page, at: [3]

You may want to comment on some of these, or add in some further ones.

I wanted to get to this earlier, but got diverted by having to defend the continued inclusion of the Alana Grace article in Wikipedia. The debate over that has gone well, I think, and the decision will be made later today - hopefully to retain the article - so it's back to Alexz and Instant Star.

I really wish that CTV would get on with broadcasting the rest of Instant Star here in Canada. I'm thinking of writing to the CRTC about this situation, but havn't yet made up my mind to do so: CRTC is supposed to ensure that Canadian content gets made and is broadcast. CTV contracted with Epitome for the show, but has only shown the first 7 or 8 episodes. Everything was going fine with the broadcasts until Instant Star was displaced by "Dancing with the Stars" or "So You Think You Can Dance?" I can only imagine how Stephen Stohn feels about all this, given that he has been quite out-front on policy issues affecting Canadian broadcasting. He was quite polite and low-key in his postings on the CTV discussion board, but then again, he has to maintain good relations with CTV, which does buy the show, even though they have held back on the broadcast.

[edit] Alexz Johnson Article

I added a subsection (on Links in Other Languages) to the section on External Links, given that Alexz and Instant Star are popular in many other countries.

I don't think that this subsection will get out of control as long as it is limited to substantive links, and as long as a substantial fan base is involved. For example, Alexz is popular in Germany, and there are two articles (of reasonable length) in German, so I included references to these. For the same reasons, I also included two Spanish references. However, I did not include any French references, because the French Wikipedia article is only a one-liner. (I found this disappointing, since French is my main foreign language.)

To a considerable degree, the articles in other languages are spin-offs from the main English article. For example, the German article is essentially a shortened version of the English article.

Instant Star and Alexz are international phenomena, and the inclusion of some links in other languages will help to make the point, as long as we keep the links limited to a few main sites and Wikipedia articles.

I hope you're OK with this. I'd like to see the English Wikipedia article as the #1 source and starting point for people around the world who want to find out more about Alexz. For a substantial portion of the audience, English will be a foreign language, and if we can steer them to something in their own language, so much the better. I'd also like to see the Wikipedia articles in other languages upgraded over time, and if we can point readers directly to them, so much the better from that viewpoint.

[edit] Alexz Johnson Article Links

Hey,

Don't put Alexz-Johnson.Net as links. Yes it's a huge Alexz site but the person who is now running it is not a nice person. The site was handed to her badly and should not be running ATM. Hope you understand.

If you have issues with a page, take it to the discussion, if you still have issues, take it to the admin. Deleting info without reason is vandalism. Parys 15:53, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Number one sign your post, number two, you did not just remove the image you took off information. So dont pretend that all you got rid of is a "fan image" that's the promtional image avalible. Parys 21:03, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Correction you think it's fake. that is the only promo image i have seen so far. and the mooreofmandy.com site is not a reliable source. I dont know who keeps adding it to the articles. That photo shoot that is so old also is being used on her OFFICIAL site. apparently she is still using those picture. Now i dont know when where or thing of that nature those photos where take. I am just stating what i know, what is sourced. Parys 22:40, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
First of there is no such thing as an official fan site, since its not coming from the true source, it is second hand information. So its an oxymoron. besides it is not sourced nowhere about anything of the sort. Sorry no spamming. and i never used the word stalker.Parys 03:44, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
On the note of the "official" fan site, i vote it remains out for numerous reasons. Number one mandy's site nor official or myspace endorses it. Two, the site isnt endorsed by EMI either. I see no proof on why this is the official anything, only by your word. sorry that isnt good enough. Now i said it remided me of the stalkers handy work, she was eventually banned from wikipedia. [edit] Alexz Johnson - MySpace Controversy

Looking back, I think that it's best to exclude all mention of MySpace sites, given that none has been proven official. As long as the sites aren't official, the copyright status of any songs on them is questionable.

If someone can prove convincingly that their Alexz MySpace site has official approval, then it can (and should) be mentioned in the Wikipedia article.

[edit] Alexz Johnson - Recording Contract

If you have a reference for the info that Alexz Johnson is no longer with Capitol, then it should go into the Wikipedia article as a footnoted source.

Presumably, she was dropped (if that's the case) as a result of a shake-out following a Capitol-Virgin merger. Or she may have somehow left on her own.

There has been controversy over Capitol micro-managing the Season 3 CD of Instant Star by insisting that Alexz only sing 1 or 2 songs on it; they later relented, and agreed to her singing 4 or 5 songs. But if she is no longer with Capitol, then they are no longer in a position to determine how many songs she sings on the Season 3 CD, in which case the Season 3 can - potentially - be another all-Alexz CD.

Any info on all this?

By the way, I fixed some of of the annoying edits/deletions made by what I see as an interloper on the Alexz article. I wish that people would just make positive contributions/corrections, and not move the article backwards as that person did.

Thanks again for your work on this article.

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:InstantStarS1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:InstantStarS1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:36, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
