An anon deleted the existing article and replaced it with a chronology that doesn't fit WP standards, and looked copyvio-ish as well. So I reverted it. However, the chronology probably had some worthwhile info in it, so someone may want to take a look at it in the history and merge some of that into the existing article. [edit] Needs work

This article really requires a thorough rewrite. I chopped it up into more manageable sections, although I'm not really happy with where it is right now. It needs a lot of work.

Currently, the article has no references, and it is in dire need of some.

And if anyone happens across this article that speaks Kurdish, or whatever his local language was, getting his name down in the local language would be helpful to the article.Pepsi2786 22:59, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

The section on the split between the Iraqi Kurds and Qasim is grossly oversimplified, and doesn't deal with the complex issues regarding Barzani's KDP, Communism, pan-Arabism, etc. Rpine75 01:43, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
