[edit] Is this article necessary?

There are already articles for Music of Alberta, Music of Saskatchewan, and Music of Manitoba. I don't see why there needs to be a master article amalgamating all three. Purhaps some sort of merge (dispersal?) of the info in this article into the proper provincial article is in order. Agent 86 19:43, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

There are some good reasons to focus on all the Prairie Provinces though. The Garland Encyclopedia of World Music, for example, has several sections about the Prairie Provinces. Folk music of this area is distinct from elsewhere, and some musical traditions (like the Metis, Ukrainians and religious minorities) are spread throughout all three provinces. But then shouldn't some sort of merge type thing be done? French Film Blurred (talk) 18:29, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
