Mustafa Mohamed

Mustafa Hassan Mohamed (born March 1, 1979) is a long-distance runner who mainly competes in 3000 m steeplechase. Born in Mogadishu, Somalia, he moved to Sweden at the age of 11, became a Swedish citizen and now lives in Lysekil.
Having finished eighth for Sweden at the 1998 World Junior Championships, he progressed significantly over the next years. In 2003 he lowered his personal best from 8:32 to 8:23, and at the 2004 Olympics he ran in 8:18.05 minutes. He finished tenth at the 2005 World Championships, and in 2006 he ran in 8:14.67 in July Stockholm and finished fourth at the 2006 European Championships in August.
He posted 8.05,75 on July 28, 2007, beating the 31 year old Swedish record.
