Museum of Brisbane is a social history museum created by people with a passion to inspire others about life in Brisbane. MoB explores ideas and stories that illuminate Brisbane’s past and present and help us to imagine our future.

Opened in October 2003, Museum of Brisbane has seen more than 1, 500,000 visitors through its doors. Formerly Brisbane City Gallery, the museum was created in response to feedback that a museum for and about the people of Brisbane was needed.

MoB has a changing exhibition program that celebrates Brisbane through social history, visual arts, craft and design. All MoB exhibitions are founded on a strong community-based relationship. Artist’s curators and community groups all provide input into the exhibitions and local products sold in the MoB Store.
