Museo de Tradiciones y Leyendas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
El Museo de Tradiciones y Leyendas (English: the Museum of Traditions and Legends) is situated in León, Nicaragua. The building which now hosts the museum was the infamous XXI jail from 1921 to 1979 where many prisoners were tortured. Now while the cells host many puppets illustrating the traditions and legends of Nicaragua, there are paintings on the walls at the same time telling how prisoners suffered from many kinds of torture.
There is an admission fee. A guided tour in Spanish is also available.
