Other categories

To be classed as a B-side, the song has to have appeared on a single. The following songs have not appeared on any single.

  • "House of the Rising Sun" (cover - appeared on a 2002 compilation called 1Love for the charity War Child)
  • "Balloonatic" (an early version of "Twin" - appeared on a compilation called Helping You Back to Work from Lockjaw Records in 1997, which featured demos from unsigned bands)
  • "Spectrum" (an early version of "Futurism"; can only be found in live bootlegs, and to date "Spectrum" / "Futurism" has only been played live once)
  • "Man of Mystery" (cover of the original song by The Shadows, released on an NME promotional CD in 2007)
  • This Is a Muse Demo
    • "Backdoor" from This Is A Muse Demo, the earliest known Muse recording. This is the only song from the demo tape that has not had a sample of it leaked onto the Internet, and this raises speculation about it as it is an older song than the others. However the last note appears at the start of the "Sling" sample.
    • "Sling" - Although this song has not been re-recorded, it did appear on This Is A Muse Demo, and the owner of this ultra rare recording recorded a seven-second sample of this and two of the other songs "Feed" and "Jigsaw Memory" to prove its authenticity when he put it up for auction. The last note of the unleaked previous song "Backdoor" can be heard at the beginning of the sample.
    • "Feed" (see "Sling")
    • "Jigsaw Memory" (see "Sling")
