Muscovy (also Moscovia, Moscovie, Moskovia; in Russian: Московия) is a historical European term for the Principality of Moscow and the Grand Duchy of Moscow. It may also refer to one of the following:
- A common name for the Grand Duchy of Moscow.
- Early Tsardom of Russia (16th —17th centuries; e.g., Discovery of Muscovy by Richard Hakluyt or John Milton's A brief History of Moscovia)
- "Muscovy" and "Muscovites" continued to be used (sometimes disparaginly) for "Russia" and "Russians", long after it ceased to be the formal name, and also in times when Moscow was not the capital of Russia (e.g. Disraeli, in a letter to Queen Victoria, proposed "to clear Central Asia of Muscovites").
