Musashino (武蔵野市; -shi) is a city located in Tokyo, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 136,326 and the density of 12,705.13 persons per km². The total area is 10.73 km².

The city was founded on November 3, 1947. The city is made up of around three neighbourhoods, one of which is Kichijōji, which includes the Kanda River's spring.

Musashino operates its public elementary and junior high schools.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Board of Education operates the following high schools:

  • Musashi High School [1]
  • Musashino North High School [2]

In addition, the metropolitan school district operates Musashino Junior High School [3].

Musashino Jyoshi Gakuen, a girls' school possessing a soeur system, inspired the novel series Maria-sama ga Miteru.
