Musart Records

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Musart Records is the name of several different record labels that have issued records at various times in the 20th century.

Musart
  1. The name is also known as Discos Musart in Mexico and is a Mexican label.[1] It is known for releasing traditional Mexican folk music as well as international releases licensed from various labels around the world. It was founded in 1948 and now has the following subsidiary labels: Balboa Records in the USA as well as Balboa Records and Panart in Venezuela.[2] Until Capitol Records opened in Mexico in 1965, recordings by The Beatles were released by Musart Records in Mexico. Capital re-releases now sometimes use completely different covers so detecting whether a Capitol version is actually an original Musart album or not can be difficult.[3]
  2. A separate Brazilian Musart label releases primarily latin music.[4]
  3. Musart of Los Angeles has recorded many artists over the years.
